What are the Clomid Success Rates Compared to Not Using It? First round of Clomid... we danced on the right days. Are my chances increased or the same as not using it? How many women really get pregnant using it? How many on the first round?

replied: ""

I was just diagnosed with PCOS a month ago and RE wants to start on clomid 100mg. Success rates? Symptoms? Should I be worried about anything this is my first time on this drug. Trying to conceive.

PgatWith#1 Du Ja19 replied: "why don't they put you on Metformin first? I have PCOS and I was on Metformin for 4 months and am now pregnant. it is not a fertility drug and helps with the pcos symptoms. But from what i have heard, Clomid does work. But every person's body is different to drugs. Good Luck BABY DUST!"

Allison G replied: "Your Dr should be able to go over the symptoms and success rates of using Clomid. I only took 50 mg so I don't know if it is different for different doses but I did not notice any side effects. I have heard from other people that they experienced cramps, hot flashes, mood swings from taking Clomid but everyone is different. Good luck to you!"

Amber D replied: "I am not sure about taking hormones with PCOS, but wanted to wish you luck! I too was diagnosed with PCOS last September and was told that my chances of having another baby were very slim to none..At that point, I had not had a period in 2 yrs..I found out January 8 of this year that I was 8 weeks pregnant and my OB doctor was in complete amazement!! We are due in August with our 3rd boy, so don't give up!! I wish you the best of luck!!!"

busynesa replied: "I am also on clomid 100mg and it makes me ovulate but i am in the waiting game to see if this was my month baby dust to all"

Laura D replied: "My RE started me out on Metformin (Glucophage). I became pregnant after a few months and now have a healthy, beautiful 15 month old girl. I would ask your doctor about Met. before going too much further with Clomid. It's primary purpose is for diabetes, so insurance doesn't apply the same high deductible as it does for fertility drugs. I have known people with PCOS who vary from being successful right away with different drugs to doing in-vitro to adoption. I personally believe relaxation is key. Do not focus on the outcome every month- focus on learning your body and creating a welcome environment for your future baby. Good luck!!"

Success rates with Clomid, IUI and Metformin? Ok so my doctor just put me on metformin today and we are starting Clomid in January. Taking provera Jan 1 (if I don't start on my on before then) then Clomid and we are going to do an IUI. Good success rates from anyone using these same treatments?

TTC Baby #1 replied: "I'm in the same boat. I'm going on Clomid if I am not preggo by February. I hear they have a very good success, but let me know how it works for you. E-mail me anytime:"

ttcgirl replied: "im on clomid right now. this is my second round. my sis used it and she got pregnant but sonetimes it takes more than one dose. i just started my second dose today. i hope i have better luck this time. and you know just stay positive and it will happen. good lck"

ky59742 replied: "It really depends on your ovaries. I have heard clomid to be successful. I have done 3 rounds of clomid, while on metformin and IUI didnt work. but good luck to you.;."

Meg replied: "hi there i've done 5 rounds of clomid 1st round 50mg than 100mg, 150mg,150mg than 200mg because i wasn't responding to it. i've also been on metformin for about 6 months now and found out last week we were pregnant so we r super excitied!! but still early days i also have pcos. i hear that success rates are good. i too would have been starting injections in january if i still wasn't pregnant. Hope this helps."

What is the procedure of being on clomid and what are success rates? How long can you be on clomid for? Also usually how long does it take to conceive?? 3 months?? Can ask your doctor to scan you all the time to see when you ovulate so you have sex on the right day while on clomid??

Mel replied: "Clomid is taken for 5 days. Some drs will prescribe it from days 3-7 of your cycle and some may tell you to drink it from days 5-9. They usually start with a dosage of 50mg and then increase it gradually if they don't see any results. The norm is to use it for no longer than 6 months. If you did not fall pregnant within that time period they will ask you to take a break from the medication and then start again later or try something else. Usually the dr. will ask you to come in for a scan on cd 14 - to check for ovulation. Some women fall pregnant on their first round of clomid and for some it doesn't work at all. Clomid has not worked for me and I am about to start Femara. Good luck!"

kerry.blacklock@btinternet.com replied: "i used clomid i started off on the 50mg and when that did not work i went up to 100mg i fell pregnant on the third attempt still on 100mg i used clomid in 2 of my pregnacys i got a scans every day from around days 11-14 and my nurse would tell me that i was ovulating and to go home and have sex for 5 consecutive days or 6 if we could manage haha i hope this is of some help to you good luck"

Joanna R replied: "success rate i believe is something like 40%. i am on my 5th cycle. they said only 6 cyles but then they rang me on friday and said keep doing it until you get prego. i said i think i wouldve exceeded my limit and they said no, ring us after xmas if ur not prego. i am monitored every month for follies and i ovulate all the time, just not prego. gutting."

Can anyone give me success rates fro clomid day 2-6? I start my clomid this week on those days...? .....and would appreciate some success stories as i feel really down !!! please help Sorry i mean success stories not RATE !!!!!

Mommy of 1.5(baby 2 aug 2008) replied: "I did the metformin and clomid. I did days 5-9 with my cycle. I got pregnant month one, but had a negative test and a light period then found out after session 2 I was prego! Baby dust. Just remember with Clomid it may take a different dose, the doctor should test you and change it as needed. Just keep your head up. I tried for 2 years and clomid is what did it!"

~cupcakeash~ttc badly replied: "well i hope so bc i started clomid mon and stop fri and do my thang so i hope it works bc ive been trying for 3yrs with nothing but maybe now bc we both been checked and everything is fine with both of us........my doc seems really hopefull but u can add me for email if u wanna talk to someone who is going through the same thing at the same time feel free too......good luck and baby dust your way"

chic replied: "Well I took chlomid, on days 3-7 it doesnt matter so much the days that it is being taken on as long as its doing its job. I had it for 5 cycles and ovulated and all of them except 1 and got pregnant on the 5th cycle. A lot of people talk about 3rd cycle being your best chance obviously that is not true so dont worry if you have passed your 3rd cycle and are still not pregnant. Like I said I fell on cycle 5 and i am now 5months pregnant after 2 and a half years of trying. Good Luck with the chlomid"

Success rates with Clomid and Ovidrel (hCG) injection? I'm going to be starting Clomid soon, and I go in on cd12 for a follow up u/s and the Ovidrel (hCG) injection. Have any of you used this combo and gotten pregnant? Or heard of anyone being successful with these two medications?

Lola replied: "I used to work in fertiliy (now in ob-gyn! the next natural step, of course) and the success rate was about 40-60%. I've known many couples (over 50 in one year) who have conceived using this method, or just clomid alone."

oPiNIonAteD! replied: "Wow..im doing the same thing and i have heard majority..success stories! I only heard about 2 people that didnt have success. good luck for you and me! I have a quick question for you...do you have 5000 or 10000 for the Ovidrel? Im just curious..i got 5000. I was wondering why my dr didnt give you 10000. feel free to email me."

What is the success rate of clomid while trying to concieve? Iam now on another higher dose of clomid 2 X1 ( two tablets a day for five days )anyone tell me about the success rate.We have tried to have a baby and it's getting us frustrated any advice

honey replied: "I fell pregnant first time with clomid.....twins! Good luck...... all you can do is persist and keep trying!"

dontknow replied: "i got pregnant on round one 5mg i wish you luck."

LAUREN&KLOE replied: "Why would you want to play god? Why not adopt?"

Does anyone know the success rate of infertility treated with clomid+metformin? I have been ttc with pcos for over 19 months. I have been taking metformin, and now my dr is going to start me on clomid also. Do any of you know the success rate of clomid? Also how likely are you to have twins or higher?

paperrose223 replied: "one of my good friends took both and now has a healthy baby girl. she only took them for three cycles and was able to get pregnant.before taking them she was not ovulating at all. Hope this helps and good luck."

father2twins replied: "It got us twins. Good Luck."

punkmush replied: "me and my hubby are a success story :) I'm on metformin and was placed on clomid and now we're 15 weeks preggers. I asked my doctors about the twins and she told me that the rate isn't as high as you think but the chances are increased. Unfortunately and thankfully we're blessed with the one :) Good luck tho hun! :)"

Success rates of clomid? Hi. Does anyone know the success rates of clomid? What about on the first cycle? Did you take it? When did you become pregnant? I'm going to start my first round next month! I'm praying it works!!! Thank you!

Joy replied: "I was on it for 6 months...didn't get pregnant. I decided to take a break from it. One of the side effects is severe anger and trust me.....it's a bad side effect. Good luck."

peanuts01 replied: "I was on it 3 different times and never got pregnant. I ended up finding out I have PCOS which can effect Clomid and make it not work. I've been on Metformin and will be trying clomid soon. I do think it would have worked if I didn't have pcos. I hope it works for you!!"

anne h replied: "I was on clomid for 3 months and got pregnant my third round on clomid. I am now 27 weeks and 1 day pregnant after ttc for 14 months! I was lucky and did not experience many side affects. Clomid may work on your first month, but generally it could take a few months to adjust the dosage to what works for you. Your doctor will most likely start you off on 50 mg and may increase the dosage or change the days you are taking it, depending on how you respond. My third month I took clomid, I also used preseed. It is a lubricant that creates a friendly environment for his boys to swim in. You can buy it at. I really think this helped my get pregnant. Clomid can also make you dry down there, so preseed works really well for that too. Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!"

Jeanette s replied: "I got pregnant on first my cycle with it. The side effects can be a bit vicious (moodiness, head-cloudiness). But for me it was worth dealing through."

Guera replied: "I dont have a success story for you yet....this cycle will be my second round of clomid....first cycle I was put on 50mgs and i didn't ovulate...so this time the dr put me on...100mg...I'm currently waiting my trustee ol AF....to begin everything....I have all the confidence in clomid....and I asked this question a few times and...to my surprise...a few women concieve on there first round.....hope your one of the lucky one...take care and all the best of luck"

Carrie C replied: "i was placed on clomid at 50mg but after two months didn't oulate then placed on 100mg on the second cycle i gotten pregnant but later @ 10 weeks i m/c. They do work i am currently on my second cycle again and i am 3 days late i hope and pray this is what i think it is"

Success Rates w/ Clomid? Hello ladies! I had surgery to resect my uterus (had a uteran septum) on 7-1-09. I'm started the progesterone to induce AF on wednesday. I have done 2 rounds of clomid previous to surgery with no luck (or ovulation). This next cycle she is putting me on 100mg of clomid with a midcycle trigger shot. I was wondering have any of you gone through this and what the success rates were? Any sort of encouragement really. Thanks!

Jennifer K replied: "I took clomid at 150 mg on days 3-7 for about 5 months. I did the trigger shot to induce ovulation 36 hours later during that time too. They never worked for me... but I did clomid with a trigger shot the last month and also did artificial insemination and am now pregnant. So it just depends on what is going on with your body. Mine was having trouble getting the sperm where it needed to be. Once we bypassed that and just inserted it in my uterus I got pregnant. So who knows... there are always going to be success and failure rates with any medication and procedure. Good luck!!"

Face T replied: "The success rate for any healthy normal couple if 15-20% each cycle, so assuming revised clomid dosage makes you ovulate, your success rate will be the similar (i.e good chance of getting pregnant within six months). The problem is usually getting one to ovulate, even with clomid sometimes. Hopefully the next cycle works for you and the trigger shot is extra bonus to make sure you ovulate assuming you have mature follicles. Good luck."

Praying for A Blessing!!!!!! replied: "20%"
